Blueberry Vanilla Collagen Shake

In my taking care of ME era, because as Kate Hudson once said, “The irony is that when we take care of ourselves first, we are in a much stronger place to take care of those we love.”

⁣Today, I’m going to share a glimpse into what self-care currently looks like for me. This includes, but is not limited to:⁣

Taking prenatals postnatal

Shaking up my routine (quite literally). ⁣

Let me explain…

Even after pregnancy, I see “pre-natal” vitamins as essential for both myself and my little babe. Because I am exclusively nursing (for now), I am limited to what I can consume in terms of vitamins, supplements, and even certain foods. Taking a prenatal allows me to get the benefits I need that are safe to pass through breast milk and to baby.

The company I order my prenatals from is called Care/of, and yes, they are worth the hype! What I appreciate most about this company is it’s transparency with ingredients and nutrition facts, not to mention it’s descriptive write-ups on each product they supply. They even go in depth on which vitamins / supplements are okay to pair together, verses what’s not recommended. And a bonus, is that they offer a quiz tailored to your needs. Another bonus, they ship their vitamins in the cutest little custom, compostable packages.

Aside of prenatal vitamins, C/O recommended two other supplements, based on my dietary interests — Collagen Vanilla Oat Creamer and Vanilla Plant Based Protein Powder. Of course, I ordered both, along with the shaker bottle to go with them.

Now for the recipe…

Blueberry Vanilla Oat Shaken

Collagen Protein Drink

⁣⁣⁣⁣(more than a mouthful, to say the least)⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣

Ingredients:⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣. 1 heaping cup frozen blueberries⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣. 1 scoop vanilla protein powder ⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣. 1 scoop vanilla oat collagen creamer ⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣. 2 cups oat milk ⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣. splash of vanilla extract (optional)⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣Directions:⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣Place a shaker ball in a shaker bottle of choice. I couldn’t find the shaker ball mine came with, so I took one out of my whisk and it worked 100 x better! Highly recommend if you have one of these!

Add in all the ingredients in the order listed and place on the lid.⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣Shake, sip, and enjoy!⁣

Take with (prenatal) vitamins (optional).
