MONDAY Cake Beauty Haul

On this week’s blog post, you can have your cake and wear it too (apparently)…

Long story, short, I went to my local Shoppers to pick up some shampoo to wash the actual cake I got in my hair today (don’t ask), and came back with some yummy non-edible treats from Cake Beauty. And well, I just couldn’t help but share, because if this isn’t dessert for the skin, then I don’t know what is. All their products are made with natural ingredients and are free from parabens, phthalates, sulfates, and talc, which is a definite plus!

First up is THE SUGAR RESET purifying hair rinse. Think of a deep conditioner, but in serum form. Not only is this hair rinse infused with nutrients, but it seals the cuticle and works to gets rid of any “build up” with it’s restorative properties. Recommended use is once or twice per week to bring moisture and shine back into the hair.

Next is THE CURL WHIP hair mousse. No, this isn’t whipped cream, although it certainly looks and smells like it. Unlike a lot of hair products, this curl boosting mousse helps shape curls without leaving your hair with a “crunchy” feeling. Instead, it provides a nice hold, while keeping the hair soft via vitamin E and aloe vera. This mousse is meant to be applied on wet hair after the shower and can be left to air dry or blow dry.

Now for the desserted Island shower wash and body mousse. Both of these luscious products smell like a mix of vanilla cake and orange creamsicles. They also both contain an elixir of raw Tahitian coconut oil. The shower wash provides lots of moisture and contains aloe juice, while the body mousse hydrates skin and contains mango butter. These products are to be used as you would expect and will leave your skin soft and glowy.

While we’re at it, I figured I’d share the shampoo (and conditioner) I initially went to the store for. Now, normally I prefer to pick up my hair products from the salon, because I’m a MoroccanOil type of girl, but sometimes that’s just not an option and today I needed a “quick fix”. And so I reached for my Shoppers go-to, made by MONDAY hair care. While this is a different brand than Cake Beauty, both are cruelty free and strive towards sustainably, which is something I ALWAYS look for in my products. MONDAY’S Smooth Lisser shampoo and conditioner also both smell similar to Cake’s desserted island collection. I love this stuff not only for they way it smells, but for how soft it leaves my hair every time I wash (and condition) it. It also gets rid of any frizz and/or dullness.

Okay, that’s it (for now). All the above products can be found at your local Shoppers or ordered online.

Which hair products do you reach for when shopping at Shoppers??
